Center for Popular Democracy's 2016 People's Convention

The People's Convention: Pittsburgh, PA (July 7th-10th, 2016)

A national gathering of grassroots leaders to build a shared agenda for justice

This July, a wide range of people's organization's from around the country including Good Jobs Now (a CPD affiliate) will gather in Pittsburgh for a historic People’s Convention – which will include strategy sessions and workshops, a direct action, and a visionary agenda for economic, racial, and climate justice.

The People’s Convention will bring together organizers, artists, national progressive voices and community leaders who are driving bold and transformative social change initiatives – to learn, to strategize, and to develop a shared agenda for justice.

We will be joined by hundreds of progressive elected officials affiliated with Local Progress, who are committed to moving an equity agenda inside their city legislatures.

In the context of increasingly hateful rhetoric, and as one after another of our communities are scapegoated and subject to attack, this is an historic opportunity to celebrate our communities, build unity and gather strength for the fight ahead.

Total estimated costs = $150 (includes registration, lodging, transportation and meals)

The Good Jobs Now delegation will depart from Detroit at 6pm on Thursday, July 7th from 2727 Second Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201 and will return on Sunday, July 10th around 12pm.
