Good Jobs Now is a grassroots membership based organization that fights for economic and social justice for low-income workers and Detroiters. We are building a powerful movement that will transform the city through issue and electoral organizing, legislative advocacy, and grassroots mobilization.
Our mission is to build the political and economic power of low and moderate-income Detroiters of color through neighborhood-driven community organizing and civic engagement in order to change public policy and communities for the better.
We build power at the neighborhood level; one person at a time, one block at a time. We envision a vibrant and thriving economy in which all Detroiters have access to good jobs, safe streets, excellent public education, reliable public transportation, and affordable quality housing regardless of their background. To achieve this vision, low and moderate income Detroiters, and especially within the majority communities of color, must build power to affect change in our state, our city and our neighborhoods.
1) Empower Detroit leaders of color with the tools, training, and resources needed to organize and guarantee that their issues, concerns, and values are represented at all levels of government.
2) Invest in our community and engage citizens to build long-term political and economic power.
3) Craft alternative models and institutions that will advance our vision of racial and economic justice
4) Act to win real systematic change and change the lives of Detroit and Metro-Detroit residents of color
